What is twofo?

twofo represents the state of online discussion and filesharing for students at the University of Warwick. At present, it consists of a Direct Connect ('DC++') hub which is situated off campus, allowing us to discuss stuff. There is unlikely to be an on campus alternative anytime in the future, however anybody from campus is free to connect. Please see the links below for more information.

Post details: Twofo Film Night

Twofo Film Night

twofoTwofo is holding a film night (or possibly series of nights) on the hub. A film is chosen in the week or so beforehand and everybody tries to obtain a copy to watch at the same time. This week's film is Pulp Fiction. Anybody with a copy and wanting to join in should be on the hub at around 10pm on Thursday night (23rd August).
Assuming everybody can manage to start the film at the same time it ought to be fun.

Couldn't somebody just set up VLC to stream it to everyone?

Nobody has the bandwidth to do that off campus unfortunately, and on campus it doesn't take alot to get hold of a copy assuming somebody else has it ;)

Actually, that's quite an interesting idea, and I *do* have the bandwidth to do it off campus :) Thing is, you'll essentially need to download it anyway (whether properly or via VLC) so it'll just save a little bit of effort for people. I'll look into it.
