As we have been getting so many questions asked about this, I thought that it might be a good idea to post it on the forums...
v0.68 and greater of DC++ has compatability issues with opendchub, the hub software that we are using. This will cause it do close the connection to the hub after a few seconds.
The easiest method of resolving this problem is to use the oldest compatable version, 0.674 which is available from
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/dcpl ... e?download
We will attempt to fix this problem eventually, just that we are all a bit busy at the moment so please bear with us

This should have been fixed now. Newer versions of dc++ should be able to connect to the hub. If you are still experience diffculties, please post here.
Please only post if you are getting the "Connection Closed" message immediatly after you ahve connected and not because you have been banned or anythnig silly like that. That will be your own fault

Is there a limit on how old the version of DC++ you use should be?
I'm way behind the times; i thought DC had died never to return!
I'm currently running 0.306 - mainly cos that was the best one to run last year. The admin discouraged upgrading.
Cheers!

The only reason they said that last year was because the higher shares didn't want to use the latest verion - which has connection issues with clients prior to it. DC++ 0.306 is the earliest verion we allow on the hub but we would prefer if people used the latest client, or at least 0.674.

It's also because they were selfish tits who couldn't be fucked to hash their files by updating their clients.

BTW, in case anyone's not noticed, twofo should now work with the latest DC++, but some specific speed settings may appear a bit mangled.
