Not twofo noobs but computer noobs generally, here's a sequence from my old job as phone support monkey:

Me: Now, type in tracert 212.159.6.9 and then press enter
Customer: [after some minutes of aggravatingly slow typing] Okay, now what?
Me: What do you see? Read off what's on screen.
Customer:I've just got tracert 212.159.6.9placenta
Me:[falls off chair]

They always seem to assume that the hub is broken in some way. Almost never that they are set up wrong.
Who knows of any time where searching didn't work because te hub was broken?!

My excuse that time was the the keyboard was a bit too far away from the receiver and so missed quite alot of letters/words.
(And all of the times I used the backspace key for that matter)
