Hello all,

Sorry to bother you more knowledgable types, but I cant get my DC to work recently... which is annoying as I helped a friend get theirs working successfully yesterday!!

Problems are:
# I cant search for anything, ie, if i search for "the" nothing comes up.
# If i try to download even filelists I get connection timeouts, or "could not open target file, access is denied" errors, even from previously reliable/fast peers..

I think Ive covered the following to check all is ok...
  • #Internet connection is working with IE,
    #Firewalls are off,
#Running the version of stunnel which worked previously,
#IP is updated and put into the right box,
#Tried in passive and active modes,
#I have a large share folder set up....
And on login, the greeting is as below:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-==] Twofo - Off Campus hub - [==-

Client Type: ACTIVE / UNREGISTERED / EXTERNAL
Hub Website: http://www.twofo.co.uk
Hub Status: STABLE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But I am on campus, not external

...i really cant think what could be causing this!! - Any hints/tips would be very much appreciated.

Scott

(PS if the hub's down and its me being impatient, sorry!)

Don't forget that some of the people who you would previously have been able to connect to may have moved off-campus, preventing you from being able to connect to them.

You've probably thought of this already but you didn't mention it

(And afaik the hub has not been down :-))

For the can't search - make sure if your IP is correct (it can change fairly often - http://checkip.dyndns.org) and in the box for IP or EXternal/WAN IP depending on your DC version.
You are conencting to localhost:8000 aren't you in dc?

"could not open target file, access is denied" errors usually mean that your target download drive for complete or incomplete files is not there - perhaps a usb drive that isn't plugged in? Check the settings in File -> Settings -> Downloads and make sure all the boxes are pointing to drive letters that actually exist
