Another new year, and time to welcome new students to Warwick and welcome old students back. Having found out about twofo and this site you will probably want to read the connection guides on the
twofo wiki. Guides are there for users both on and off campus of twofo, and everybody is welcome. twofo consists primarily of an online Direct Connect filesharing hub for all students, past and present, of Warwick University. Feel free to come online and chat with us. We are mostly harmless, and we try to hold a social where everybody can meet in real life once per term. For the first few weeks of term there will be no minimum share on the hub to encourage new users
That said, use of twofo is against the AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) on Resnet, which everybody living on campus has signed up to. IT Services at Warwick have in recent years disconnected and fined alot of people for using DC++ and other P2P programs. So anybody using twofo from on campus is doing so at their own risk. There are ways to protect yourselves, such as connecting via stunnel as described at http://www.twofo.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Help:On_Campus and, more importantly, blocking external connections to DC++, guides at http://www.twofo.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Help:Firewalling If you have trouble with any of these instructions, then you can either ask on the hub for help, we are glad to help people with problems, or find your nearest computer geek to help you out ;)
Failing that there are the
twofo forums where again people will be around to help, or express sympathy at rants against Warwick and ITS
