twofo represents the state of online discussion and filesharing for students at the University of Warwick. At present, it consists of a Direct Connect ('DC++') hub which is situated off campus, allowing us to discuss stuff. There is unlikely to be an on campus alternative anytime in the future, however anybody from campus is free to connect. Please see the links below for more information.

Post details: 10GB minimum share
10GB minimum share
The minimum share on twofo has now been raised to 10GiB. We have done this simply because there are so many people not sharing what they download back to the hub. If you downloaded it, surely other people do too?
We have also heard some people say that they don’t share because they see no point sharing stuff already on the hub. This is not the case because having more sources for files is a massive help on the higher sharers. So rather than one of them sharing one file, 5 people share the same file, and everybody is happier for it.
On that note, a lot of you may find the Search for Alternatives option very useful if waiting in long queues. To turn it on, go to File -> Settings -> Downloads -> Queue, and tick the box for Automatically Search for Alternative Download locations. The more people that share the better this function works.
