Residences on campus

I'm trying to work out how much money has gone to ITS from residences from campus. This is essentially at least £5/week per network port. Can someone work out a simple equation/pseudocode for calculating this based on:
- Time and date
Number of residences with 30, 39 and 50 week lets
Holidays, e.g. Christmas holiday
Thanks,
Cocodude

Arthur Vick: 396 rooms, 30 week lets
Benefactors: 22 single rooms, 24 double rooms (60 people total), 30 week lets
Claycroft: 3x8 = 24 rooms, 39/50 week lets
Cryfield: 286 rooms, 30 week lets
Heronbank: 701 rooms, 39/50 week lets
Hurst: 50x6 = 300 rooms, 39 week lets
Jack Martin: 428 rooms, 30 week lets
Lakeside: 574 rooms, 39/50 week lets
Redfern: 45x5 = 225 rooms, 39 week lets
Rootes: 921 rooms, 30 week lets
Tocil: 574 rooms, 39/50 week lets
Westwood: 460 rooms, 30 week lets
Whitefields: 17x12 = 204 rooms, 30 week lets
I count 2755 people in 30 week places and 2398 in 39/50 week places.
If we treat all 50 week postgraduates as 39 week undergraduates, then we get:
2755*30 + 2398*39 = 176172 total weeks
176172 * £5 = £880,860 per year

thats a lot of money considering the state of the network.. I reckon most of that money doesnt actually go towards the network.. I would be surprised they couldnt keep a decent network running on that budget.. I expect not only do that have a big profit margin, but a lot of the resources are moved elsewhere leaving a very small budget for the network!!

A 2Mbps leased line costs £22k a year, multiply by 40 and its £880k so theres not much budget left.
