Ok, I know this is pinging www.msn.com, but you'd think that something would happen:

C:\Documents and Settings\CruzerMX>ping www.msn.com

Pinging www.msn.com.nsatc.net [207.68.183.32] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 207.68.183.32:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

HMMMMM NIICE! ITS if you're reading this: explain yourselves... (without blaming peer-to-peer).....(no its not faulty equipment).......hello?....ITS...?

You surely are not the only one who is having this problem at the moment.
Before the internet completely gave up on me (and I mean, NO RESPONSE) I was able to capture this:

Lots of sites drop ping requests!
Not everything is the fault of ITS.
Most personal firewalls won't give any response either, they think "stealth mode" is best.

ok maybe i was jumping to lay the blame on ITS, but I went to ping sites because the internet wouldnt allow me to load anything! not even to do a speedtest!

EDIT: MSN just signed out by itself for the upteenth time today. I managed to get the speedtest to load as well. Here's the results:

Download: 143,872 bps
Upload: 0 bps
QOS: 20%
RTT: 0 ms
MaxPause: 1547 ms

...not good - this is just unacceptable.

hmmm seems the network has gone backwards again.. It started looking better.. now its screwed again.. There might be a good reason for this.. I certainly hope so.. n I hope ITS will inform ppl if they're having problems with something.. Lets see wat happens when Warwick Accommodation are beaten and bashed.. maybe things will start improving when they get the point that students aren't just gonna sit around doing nothing!!

yea this is a joke. the weird thing is the internet tests sometimes report reasonable speeds when the internet simply won't work.

as for the times when the internet speed test won't even load, msn signs itself out, and I have to wait for ages just to check my emails stored on the warwick server......DOn'T gET me STARTED

This is ridiculous.

This happened to me last night and is happening again as well:

I continually get 'disconnected' from MSN, AIM, and anything else that I'm connected to about every minute or so. This is unacceptable! I came back to see a log of being constantly disconnected and reconnecting a server over and over and over again.

Something must be done about this, because it is unfair to have to pay for a service which is not up to what is promised.

This evening the internet is the worst it's been in a while for me. Practically no sites are loading. Even google.com and the warwick.ac.uk intranet site aren't working. It's ridiculous how they can continuously supply a service like this and get away with it.

I can get a few sites working, but it appears to be very random. The scary thing is, ITS didn't appear to even know about last night's problems until we told them in the Focus Group today. So it's anybody's guess as to what's happened this time and how long it's going to take to fix :?

yea tonight is unbelievable - i thought last night was bad but this...

nothing was loading and i mean nothing, so i kept trying the speed test, look what i got:

Download: 815,936 bps
Upload: 280,736 bps
QOS: 73%
RTT: 19506 ms
MaxPause: 32 ms

Look at the RTT!

EDIT:
As I thought it was a one-off, I did it more, here's a screenshot

^ that was what I was going to say, now for the correction:

I would post a screenshot but nowhere will load! Not even google.....

 I.....WANT.......BLOOD.......
