Heres something which would be cool if everyone did, a standardised test to measure internet speeds.

1. Go Start->Run->"cmd"
2. Type "ping www.bbc.co.uk"
3. Let it run.
4. Then type "tracert www.bbc.co.uk"
5. Copy and post your results here along with the time you ran it!
6. (remove any data you want to withhold, of course)

OMFG..... My internet (Whitefields) is actually screwed. and it's not even to do with the 2.5Mbit Cap theyve installed cause im in a "filesharing area". Notice the difference in ping between the first few hops on the trace route. jeez.

well, besides the fact that 50% were lost, I do think a ping of 15 is superb.
On the second attempt I had a 0% loss rate and a ping of 27ms.

Like I said, Internet connection is somehow directly proportional to accomodation price...with Westwood being a strange exception (very strange)

i know what you mean, but apparently it isn't.

Every subnet shares a 2.5meg connection, with some (who weren't on that "friday's naughty list email" getting an extra burstable 1meg)

Perhaps your subnet is smaller, so you have a better contention ratio.
