Does anyone else that uses oDC find that it just randomly closes? or is it just me :P Would it make any difference if i swapped to DC++, seeing as they are both the same basic source code will it make a difference?

(just annoyed took me 6hrs to connect then oDC closed :x )

cheers

I donn't know of any specific problems for oDC - I've used it a number of times before with no problems, although this was on a gigabit network :P

oDC is based on a very old version of DC++ and is not longer maintained, and does not support TTH hashing. You should really use the latest version of DC++, or try fulDC if you want something that looks pretty.

dont choose fulDC.. it has give a bit of problems..

oDC is still no longer under-development.. just to let everyone know..

also I would recommend BCDC++ currently if u want a "special" client for ur windows system

otherwise u could always get linux and use valknut :D

BCDC++ is just a modified version of DC++. It is not as stable so it is a much better idea to just use the 'standard' DC++ client. One of the reasons why oDC was/is used is because it doesn't have hashing implemented.

yes I realize that.. but often ppl ask why they have small problems with oDC and just making sure they realize its no longer being developed and is base on the old .306 version of DC++.. BCDC++ is based on the much newer 0.674 version and I would consider it just as stable as oDC.. Yet the /me command works in oDC, but not in BCDC :P

the /me command actually does work, its just it needs to be sent as RAW commend to openDC hubs... BigG's hub recommends them but cocodude's doesnt... so it clearly isn't a client issue.

The reason why it 'works' on my hub is because I hacked it

yea but we'd have VerliHub :D

and also dogtanian was very naughty the other day and has upset tux!! his flipacoin answered in favour of windows twice.. It should never do that.. should be a built in bias that linux always wins!!

Methinks complaining about that to BigG rather than Cocodude might be a better idea

me thinks it was just a side-comment and not the main part of the message.. main part was to get cocodude to get VerliHub :D

BigG I'll handle at the LAN :P
