				AMD AM2 and RAM issues

My computer's playing up and sometimes crashes randomly. It is definitely the hardware at fault, and either I think either RAM or CPU. It's one of the first batch of AMD X2 proessors working on the AM2 socket. BigG informed me that some of these are known to have issues regarding the memory controller and this could be causing the problem. astropoint is having exactly the same problems as me, even down to the fact that sometimes the computer will run fine for days or weeks, but then it'll be really unstable for a few days.
Can anyone point me in the direction of further information on this? I might try and get a replacement CPU if it seems as though this is the problem.
Thanks,
Cocodude

Guaranteed to not be ram in my case. Replaced it with completely different sticks and had the same problem

I've now sent off my AM2 processor and will let you know what happens when I get a replacement back.

I've now got the new processor back but I got two random crashes on Monday, so it can't be that
I'm now taking out other bits of my computer, starting with my wireless PCI card. No crashes since Tuesday so far...

Well, it hasn't crashed for quite a few days now after I took my PCI wireless card out. Very strange. I'll give it a clean (although it's not dirty), put it back in, and see if I get crashes again.

Cleaned it and I'm still not getting crashes. I may be tempteing fate, but I think this issue is now solved.
