So as part of the Resnet we are going to get a 1024/256 Kbps connection - contention ratio 50:1.
But this is by far the best point:
A maximum weekly download limit of 1.3 GB (190Mb a day), approximately 5 GB per month. This is imposed in order to facilitate fair & equal access for all ResNet Service users; & prevent a small number of users from utilising the majority of the bandwidth available to the ResNet Service.
Right, this is seriously bollocks now....and they are charging us the equivalent of ₤20 a month for this pile of shit????????????
Man what is it we can do? Seriously this is just absolutely ridiculously stupid crap internet service.
I mean for example - with a 1Mbit connection - it will take us just over 20 minutes to get over our daily limit.
Download Linux? Nope.
Buy movies (legally)? What you kidding!
Watch Yahoo Launch / YouTube/ etc... - Man get out of here!
Nope using the internet for anything else apart from loading simple HTML pages circa 1995 - its all illegal. Yup - you would be a bandwidth whore.
Sorry but this has seriously pissed me off.
ANd ANd - they even havent said what happens after you go over your limit. I bet - that they will charge a ₤50 'General Misuse' charge.
