1TB Drives

Post by cocodude »

I didn't notice this until recently, but you can now buy 1TB drives in the UK if you're rolling in the money. Hitachi has started selling them - http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?NewsID=9224

Seagate (the only brand I'll buy because I'm a hard drive snob) will, in theory, be announcing them in June according this this - http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=7998

Of course it'll almost certainly be better value to buy smaller drives, but if you're building a nice, fat RAID system, you might be able to add to it later when prices start falling.

nice hopefully seagate will have theirs out by the time I need to build a new server in my new place :)

Since with a nice fast london broadband connection I'll need more space to store stuff... obv :P
