Right for all of you in the 137.205.75.0 subnet, I hereby apologise for the inconveniance but some lameass with the IP 137.205.75.55 and the nick 'sdfs' decided to get you all banned for a day, feel free to hunt them down and asking them why.

I swear to god, I will beat the shit out of whoever it is.
Does anyone know if this effects the whole of one residence, one block only or if this problem is more widespread. If its only one block, Im sure I can find out who in my block was sharefaking.

Any info on how to correlate IP to residence room would be much appreciated.

And Josh, Im not just thinking of glow-stick sodomy here.

Well a subnet can only be 254 users max and I think that .1 is reserved as well. The subnets will be fixed to a set of halls or in the case of Rootes, for example, a couple of blocks. For example, if I recall correctly, JM1 and JM2 were on the same subnet [although I was in room 222 so I'm not *entirely* sure if this is 100% accurate]

.255 in a subnet is also reserved as the broadcast address, and I'm sure they keep a few spare IPs.

The OPs on last years "The Onion" hub made a list of all resnet subnets, and restricted access to that list, and I think they also matched up subnets to halls. Access to the hub wasn't allowed from other campus locations, like the library or departmental computer labs. A few people in the second year might be able to get the list, but I don't know who.
