So, what do these anti-filesharing posters on campus actually say?

haha I've seen these... they're pretty funny!! Also it seems ITS finally understood that their gestapo rule without any warning before a fine, is unlikely to be well seen upon, and quite frankly would have a hard time holding in court.

To be fair I'd find it quite funny to actually bring down my computer for a check with them and see what they do with a linux install. I'll gladly log them into my account, but they're not getting root :) oh wait that means u can't search anything but the folders the user has access to.. . oh wat a shame :)

I'd just shove a liveCD in and mount the drive ;)

Though that is blatantly just ignoring the data protection act...

I wasn't asking what you would do, but what they would do!! They write on the posters that you should bring you computer down to them if you are unsure about whether you have p2p programs installed. They also state that your computer will be checked when you get ur first warning, so that they can check for p2p programs. That is why I was wondering what they would do if ppl brought them a linux install. They can't exactly not give them back their connection just because they're too incompetent to check the machine :P
