through device manager you can access hard drive controllers. However i don't see how BigG's suggestion will help. You could try and get another client from a different source, or just a slightly older version. I believe BigG was hinting at that it seems the Hard Disk controller is preventing DC fr...

If you genuinely don't have the space, please try to re-share the new TV shows/ any new downloads that you do for at least a week - you wanted them so there is a high chance that someone else will too! Yup this means that if u're a low sharer then you should at least aim to share high demand files ...

You think it will ever change to verlihub now given how much has been done to the Dog ;) Otherwise if we stay with openDC then 30 GiB should the absolute minimum since most laptops today are shipped with 40-60 GiB minimum (with most having 80-120) and so even laptop users without external will be a...

Re: Gnutella and BearShare
Hi. I have been trying to connect to the Gnutella network via Bearshare without success. I am on campus. I have disabled teh Windows XP Firewall but it still will not connect. I have not had problems connecting from other computers. The port that it uses is 6346 if that helps. Would port forwarding...

I'd just shove a liveCD in and mount the drive ;) Though that is blatantly just ignoring the data protection act... I wasn't asking what you would do, but what they would do!! They write on the posters that you should bring you computer down to them if you are unsure about whether you have p2p prog...

haha I've seen these... they're pretty funny!! Also it seems ITS finally understood that their gestapo rule without any warning before a fine, is unlikely to be well seen upon, and quite frankly would have a hard time holding in court. To be fair I'd find it quite funny to actually bring down my com...

indeed clearly firewire is more leet :) One of the reasons I've always liked Lacie, they did the Firewire + USB combo (and iLink for the mac ppl with the triple interface) before most other ppl started with them. Was always nice to be able to use firewire when I could and otherwise fallback to USB. ...
