Pretty sure that's not it. I've tried a few different versions of DC++, and SOCKS5 connections. Occasionally it tells me 'connected', but no users or messages - in short, it's not actually connected. Fuck. How have they gone about that?

Yeah I have. It's not that it gives me a 'connected' or 'not connected' screen - literally nothing comes up.

Twofo At The Moment

Well this is odd. Not just unable to connect, I don't even get and messages in the window. Nothing at all. Is this all across campus? Anyone got any alternate methods of getting on?

Should be there Saturday.

In IE, it's in Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN settings. The .pac file address goes in the auto configuration script bit. The proxy address and port go in the proxy server bit below. In Firefox it's all pretty similar, Tools, Options, Connection Settings. Still, variable results. When wwwc...

wwwcache.warwick.ac.uk

Or there's an auto configuration script at wwwcache.warwick.ac.uk/proxy.pac

Anyone have any news about anything?

E, While what you say is no doubt true, it's not the point. The point is that it's not up to the university to decide how and if we can break the law - in that case why don't they stop Cocksucker selling baccy and rizlas? Telling us we'll have internet access in our rooms and then blocking a...

Good point

If they're going to butcher our connections so brutally, surely we should get a say in whether we have to pay for it. If any ISP offered a net connection whereby any P2P use is limited or blocked, no-one would stand for it. No matter what they assume it's being used for, surely offering high-speed i...

CURRENT STATE OF TWOFO

Cos let's be honest, we need one of these. I'd appreciate a moderator making this sticky so we can keep an eye on what's occurring. For instance, at the mo Twofo's not giving anybody a connection, and it'd be handy to know who's on the same page as whom. Crashed hub? ITS nastiness? Blocked port? If ...

Guess that's that then. What have we learnt from drawing board idea number one? Keep it simple. Simpler than a wireless mesh, slightly less simple than double-clicking on MSHOME and seeing what appears. The following is just thoughts churning now.... The most important features needed are the abilit...

He's right - I'm getting no joy either. Connection refused by target machine. I know the hub was filling up and the limit was around 200, it'd just be nice to know if that's the reason and it's not that ITS are going after port addresses....

Are thoughts are with you in this time of bereavement....

But here goes:

My favourite's still when this happens:

And the best thing is that it doesn't get less funny when it happens ten minutes later. If anything, it's teh better!
