it's not likely to happen, but couldn't they 'allow' specific file sharing apps to work on a specific set of ports that are bandwidth limited to say 50KB/s and block it from all other unrestricted ports? 50KB/s is still a reasonable download speed, maxxed out you could recieve the 'latest' episode i...

Update: 4 of us are using Lan2P sucsessfully so it seems this could be the one... the only set back at the moment is that it seems you have to manually enter everyone's IP addresses but i'm hoping that it'll be able to 'accuire' everyone's IP's once enough people get connected... but since there is ...

i've transferred here from coventry university, and all i can say is that their 'rezinet' was so much better than how warwick is currently operating its network... OK at coventry i was conected at ONLY 10MBs and not 100MBs like i am here, but there was almost no restrictions, games worked, DC++ work...

actually scrap the 'join network' thing, hamachi is alot more powerful than that... you can host a local shareaza network via hamachi, i've set up my PC to be a dedicated hub at the moment, if anyone wants to follow the guide on the hamachi forums and try to connect to me that'll be great my hamachi...

this program was mentioned in another thread, i just installed it and it looks like it could be a good alternative. for testing purposes, i've created a new warwick network once you've got it installed and looked at the tutorial (good idea) then join a network with following details: name: warwick u...
