It's all working again now...! Yeh I noticed the posts about the DNS server after I wrote this one :roll: You're right there echelon... I doubt that they would have picked up on a "major fault" at 1am in the morning when it all stopped working... I don't think anyone would have been there ...

Dunno if this has been in any of the other threads but Resnet wasn't working for me (and everyone else I spoke to today from other residences) from early last night (1am) until around about 30mins ago (16:00)... It was literally cut off across campus! Anyone have any reasons for it?! I don't fancy t...

My problem with this is that I'm a laptop user and you have to remember that we have limited disk space. I'm currently sharing around 40Gb (out of 100Gb) and can probably stretch to 50Gb but then some laptops barely have a 60Gb HD... I'm a regular user and wouldn't want to be penalised for the fact ...

TCP/IP is a heavy weight protocol in that there's a lot of extra checks (forming a connection, synchronisation (i.e. out-of-order packets placed back in-order), different levels of sliding-windows (to maintain a steady flow of data), cyclic reduncacy checks, closing a connection etc etc etc) perform...
