My router is a BT voyager 1500 DSL router, which means that it doesn't have phone line input for internet, it has ethernet internet input. Every subnet shares a 2.5meg connection, with some (who weren't on that "friday's naughty list email" getting an extra burstable 1meg)

Perhaps your subnet is smaller, so you have a better contention ratio.
